SENER awards for best engineering project works at the ETSEIAT Higher Technical School

On February, at SENER premises in Barcelona, took place the prize-giving ceremony of the SENER Awards for the best academic works written in the Industrial Engineering courses as well as in the degree courses in Aerospace Technology / Aerospace Vehicles given at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). This awards aim to promote excellence and to headhunt new talent among the students of the last engineering courses.

The Director of the School of Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering of Terrassa (ETSEIAT), Miguel Mudarra, as well as the tutor professors supervising the winning academic works, Juan Carlos Fernández and Álvaro Selly, accompanied by the students authoring the awarded projects, were welcomed by Òscar Julià, Director of SENER in Catalonia. Seizing the occasion, the guests took a tour to visit the new corporate building at Cerdanyola del Vallès.

Besides, as part of the award, on May the six students awarded by SENER, along with the professor of the Projects course, Santiago Gassó, visited the facilities of the innovative solar plant Gemasolar, accompanied by the plant’s engineer David Vindel.

The SENER awards have already celebrated their six edition and are the result of the collaboration between SENER and the UPC, as part of the innovation activities of SENER in Catalonia (Spain).
